Graphics, Figures & Tables ⇒ All tables in one section?

I have a number of tables in my paper and would like to include all of them in an appendix at the end. However, I can't find a way of doing that. Simply placing the tables in the appendix is ignored by LaTeX, and they end up mixed up with the text, or the references. How can I do this?
