margins and the elsevier document class

Post by Etoby »

Hello everybody,

I am using Lyx since about a month and I am doing very well so far - in other words - I love it. However I have some problems with the elsevier template/document type and some questions in general.

(1) Do I have to edit the margins by myself? The Standard ones seem not to be the ones Elsevier is using in its publication.

(2) is there anyway to use the options Elsevier gives in its documentation?
Things like %\documentclass[final,5p,times,twocolumn,authoryear]{elsarticle}
of course give errros as the documentclass is defined somewhere before the preamble.

(3) I have problems using the elsevier cite style templates - I have found some things in google but no solutions so far. I can get it to work with unsrt for example.

Thanks a lot :)

(2) (should solve (1) too): Document > Settings > Document Class, field "Custom".

(3): Please, provide an example .lyx file which shows the problem.
