Can anyone provide me with some good documentation on Texmaker? I can't for the life of me configure it properly. I am using Ubuntu 8.04.
Whenever I try to run say LaTex or BibTex I simply receive an error saying:
Process started
Process exited with error(s)
I am able to do a Quick Build to produce a nice looking .dvi file but that is about it. I am relatively new to Ubuntu so I am just wondering what I might be looking for to tell TexMaker where to look for the programs in question. Any help would be much appreciated as I feel I am wasting a lot of time getting this all running properly and not enough time actually learning LaTex. Thanks in advance!

Configuring TexMaker in Ubuntu
Hi,
I know that this is not the answer that you've been expecting, but have you considered using Kile instead of Texmaker? I use it in my computers (one with Debian Sid and the other with Ubuntu Hardy) even though I use Gnome and not KDE.
In this other thread you can find some information about both editors. However, I must confessed that, just as the author of that thread, I have only played a few minutes with Texmaker, so I could be biased.

Hi Sam,
welcome to the board!
Did you get a logfile? Could you post that file? Did you install just TeXmaker or also texlive packages? What happens if you start latex or pdflatex at the command line?
Btw. I'm using Kile on Ubuntu Linux and I'm very satisfied with it.
