help creating a poster

Post by dlorenz »

Hi everyone,
I am a new user of Lyx and am trying to create a poster. My intention is to use the "article" class and the A4 format. However I need to place the text in, say, three columns. On top and at the bottom I also need to place two figures of small height and full width, with the conference heading and the credits for the poster.
Any suggestion on where to start from? I suppose I could use a Table, but would "normal" tables work for my case?
Thanks!!!
Laura

help creating a poster

I am a bit puzzled. You want to produce a poster in A4-format? Generally, LaTeX can be used for making posters (e.g. for conferences), there even is a special document class for producing posters in LaTeX, which is not yet implemented in LyX. Still, everything that can be done in LaTeX, can be done in LyX as but would require you to use way too much LaTeX code and therefore I recommend doing this in plain LaTeX as LyX is not about writing (too much) LaTeX code.

But probably that just is not what you were looking for and I just did not get right?
