Hello,
I have a file that I worked on a few years ago (March 2014), but I haven't tried to open it since I have been keeping it in OneDrive storage, but when I downloaded it to the desktop I haven't been able to open it with TextEdit or Lyx (now on Mac)
The only information I have about the file is it's size (5,726,799 bytes, 5.7 MB on disk) and preview ("PK9C[Content_Types].xml/[0].piece]").
I'm really not sure how to proceed with extracting it; it's a manuscript, so really helpful if you can give me any information on how to recover it.

First, don't panic.
Make a backup of the file on a usb-stick, just in case.
Open the file with any text editor you have available. If the file is really corrupted, you may ask on a general computer support forum.

I assume it's not a LaTeX file, because it's huge (5.7 megabyte) and it seems to be an XML file. It's not a LaTeX issue. I guess I better mark it as solved so fellow LaTeX helpers don't waste time reading... but feel free to post again if the issue is actually different or if you notice any LaTeX problem.
