Lyx installation on win7

Post by pengyun04 »

Hello,

I have downloaded "LyX-222-Bundle-3.exe" and installed it on my Win7.
unfortunately, when I launched it, it prompted that "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing......."
I have tried six api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll but they all failed to work.
Could you please give me the dll?

Thanks for helping.

Welcome to the forum!

I guess the Visual C++ redistributable is missing or broken.
Run vcredist_x64.exe or vcredist_x86.exe, choose "Uninstall". Run that .exe file again and now select "Install".

Thanks for your answer.
I have tried both of them, vc_redist.x86 and vc_redist.x64. The dialog that "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing ..." still pop up.
My win7 is x64. The lyx directory is in "c:\Program Files (x86)\LyX 2.2", so I think it's x86.
I don't know why...

You may need to run Windows update. See: https://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/the ... f2702.html
Just a google hit, but it seems to describe it well.
