lyx on linux mint 18: view document not working
I recently upgraded to linux mint 18. After installing lyx and all the necessary texlive packages including texlive-xetex I noticed that I'm unable to view/convert a document. The little eyes icon is greyed out and the 'view other formats' dropdown list only gives me the DVI, OpenDocument and MS Word options. Strange thing is, exporting via the file menu works. Xetex is installed correctly, I get an output from pdflatex -v and xelatex -v. Has anyone here encountered that problem before?
Thanks in advance...
Edit: I think part has something to do with http://latex-community.org/forum/viewto ... 19&t=10855 and the document viewer being renamed to xreader in lm18. The solution in the post won't work, though. The preview icon becomes active when I insert xreader as viewer application but throws an error on preview.

I have the same issue, tried to search into the Lyx forum but this doesn't seem to be raised. Anyone else experienced or solved this?

Edit: my configuration is Mint 18, with Lyx 2.2.2 was firstly installed via apt-get. Then I tried today via source compilation: pb is still there. However, I am not able to reinstall an older version of Lyx (say 2.1.5) to compare..
