Problems compiling, math already defined

Post by onmikkelsen »

Hi
I'm an experienced user of LaTeX, and I've used LaTeX for a long time. I've managed to solve every problem of mine without that much difficulty.. until now..

After I've reinstalled of windows 7, I cant get LaTeX to work properly. If I try to run a file I know runs properly, it fails with 40 errors in mathpazy.sty claiming that every Greek math symbol is already defined. It also fails with a package scrlayer error, that can't define new pagestyle (5times).

Now since the document worked properly before, the error must lay in the installment itself. Does anyone have any clue on where the error is and how I solve it? I'm using TeXnicCenter and TeXmaker to compile my .tex. Every package is downloaded and installed properly. Any help are much appreciated!!

Welcome to the forum!

Please show us your document preamble (you can post code hier, using the code button), and post your .log file as attachment to a post here. That shows the errors.

discovered some old remnants of miktex, so ended up uninstalling absolutely everything latex related. After every part was successful removed, my new installation of miktex resulted installation error. Any solution ideas??

I suggest: install TeX Live 2016.

I use it on Windows, Linux and Mac OS X, it installs and runs fine.
