chemmacros support

Hi everyone,
I am using TeXShop(v3.62) on MacOsX and I have some trouble using the chemmacros package.

Here is the result during the compilation:
(/Users/spqr/Library/texmf/tex/latex/chemmacros/chemmacros.sty
(/usr/local/texlive/2009/texmf-dist/tex/latex/expl3/expl3.sty
(/usr/local/texlive/2009/texmf-dist/tex/latex/expl3/l3names.sty)

Obviously the command on line 34 is not understood but I do not know what to do to fix this.
Do you have any idea?

Thanks a lot for your help!

You are trying to use a really up to date package with your very old distribution. A complete update to 2016 would be in order.

On a different matter: I am interested, why did you choose your name that way?
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Hi Roman,

welcome to the forum!

Ah, it's Senātus Populusque Rōmānus.

I guess it's MacTeX that you use. Maybe it cannot be updated as it's a pretty old version. But you could install MacTeX 2016 over that 2009 version.

Hello,
thanks a lot. An upgrade of MacTeX solved everything. Just need to learn how to use correctly this package now :)

There's a good chemmacros manual.

Luckily, the author of chemmacros, Clemens, is a member and moderator here in the forum. So if you have a question that isn't answered in the manual, just ask here.
