Hi,
I am getting a manuscript ready for a conference.
As per the requirements, I can have 6 figures (named Fig. 1, 2 etc) and 3 supplemental figures (named Fig. S1, Fig. S2 etc) in my submission.
How do I have 2 different figure numbering schemes in the same tex file?

Custom figure numbering
\renewcommand{\thefigure}{S\value{figure}}; untested, because no example is provided. Don't forget to reset the counter.
