Texmaker and TeXstudio ⇒ Texmaker and texstudio not properly recognizing line feeds?

Dear All,

I am using texworks under debian jessie, my students use windows with texmaker or texstudio. We found out that when they create a file, I edit it (texworks will use the windows CRLF line feed), and I send the file back to them, then they experience an extra empty line after each line. That is, somehow the line feeds are not properly recognized.

I reported this error first with texworks, created some sample files, as well:

Apparently, opening the files with notepad gives the expected result (no extra lines). So it seems that maybe the culprit lies somewhere in texstudio and texmaker. It happens with the newest versions currently (texstudio 2.10.8 and texmaker 4.5), however, texstudio people did not manage to reproduce this problem with version 2.10.8.

I hope that somebody will figure out what the problem might be. If further tests are needed, we are happy to do them.
