I have a minor problem with a new installation of texlive-latex3 on debian jessie. When I am editing a .tex file with vim command and pressing a or i for appending or inserting these notices are not appearing. How to correct this? Thanks.

After installing vim and vim-tiny vi is behaving correctly. Sorry for bothering you.
