I can only get page numbers on the title pages when I compile through Kile (on Ubuntu), when I compile the exact same tex file through texnic centre on my windows machine I don't have any issues.

Any ideas?

I've sorted the above now - by just adding \pagestyle{plain} not sure why I need it in Kile but not TeXnic - but that's ok

Nevertheless you should post a minimal working example (MWE) that shows this undesired effect. Perhaps we can test that and comprehend what might be going wrong.
