Change personal dictionary directory

Post by cbustaam »

Hi,

The default directory in Win7 for the personal dictionary in LyX is

Code: Select all

%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\LyX2.1\pwl_english.dict
Is there any possibility to change in which location LyX will search for the *.dict file? I work on 2 different computers (office and home), so I would like to have only one personal dictionary file in Dropbox or Google Drive and avoid having to add the same word two times to the dictionary or having to synchronize every now and then the dict file.

Thanks!

From what I understand, it is not LyX that loads your personal dictionary file directly. It is the underlying spellchecker engine (e.g. Hunspell/Aspell). So you might want to look at options or config files for your spellchecker. I'm not sure but I think LyX just calls the spellchecker directly and lets it do the work.
