The Legrand Orange Book

Post by Basem »

Dear Vel
I am trying to use the " Legrand Orange Book" template. I opened the file "main.tex" using winedit. Everytime I try to compile it using "pdflatex" it does not run and give me the first error message saying "lipsum.sty" is not found. It seems that it does not recognize the file "structure.tex".
I tried also to open it using Scientific Workplace. The situation is worse.
I need your help in this regard.
Thanks in advance.

The Legrand Orange Book

lipsum is one of the basic packages of every TeX distribution. I suspect you have MikteX basic installed, which probably doesn't have it. Installing MikteX full, or TeX Live will ensure that the package is installed and you can compile the document.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Dear Johannes
Thanks for the answer. Yes the Miktex I have is not the full one. I will try to install the full one the Texlive hoping things will be OK.
Thanks again.

Hi Basem,

welcome to the forum!

Using TeX Live full version is indeed what I would recommend too. This saves headache later, you will rarely miss a package later. Just a few non-free or developer packages may be missing.

Hi Stefan
Still facing the same problem of getting a message that says lipsum.sty is missing. I installed the full Miktex and even the Tex Live without having the book template compiled before using it.
I am not sure how to cure the problem.
Regards.
