LyX ⇒ Lyx & El Capitan
Lyx & El Capitan
I am using the latest version of Lyx with MacTex 2015 on OX El Capitan. Since I installed El Capitan I have not been able to preview the pdf using the “view” icon on the Lyx toolbar. I changed the path as instructed and I am able to export the lyx file as a pdf. However, I just cannot view/update/preview it without exporting it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Lyx & El Capitan
Many are experiencing this issue (as judged by several reports on lyx-users). I do not know of any solution available. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone.
Re: Lyx & El Capitan
I have the same issue with a twist.
I changed my PATH from
/usr/texbin: ...
to
/Library/TeX/texbin: ...
And now all my styles (like Article (Standard Class)) is unavailable to me, and I can't even seem to export.

Okay, good to know I'm not alone. Hopefully all these issues will get fixed soon!

Re: Lyx & El Capitan
Same problem here. I followed the instructions in the pdf, uninstalled and installed both Lyx and MacteX (and other writing programs), but I still get the message: "The directory path to the document cannot contain spaces."
Re: Lyx & El Capitan
The exact same problem here!
Lyx & El Capitan
Hello Stefan. This is what I did already in order to get Lyx at least somewhat working in El Capitan. However, this doesn't fix the PDF issue.

Re: Lyx & El Capitan
Worked perfectly. Specifically doing this (which was mentioned in the link):
"if one goes in
Settings\File Handling\File Formats and selects “PDF (pdflatex)” in the second
to last dropdown menu in the settings, the one saying “With TeX fonts”, that
makes the icons “live again”, at least it did work for me, hope it does for
others too!"
