LyX ⇒ cannot access option menu

Dear all,

I recently installed lyx on a Mac whose main language is french. So lyx is in French. Since I hardly speak lyx, I would like to change the language through the options (settings? "outils" in French anyways) menu. However, I am getting the following error message:

Le système a été reconfiguré. Il faut redémarrer LyX pour utiliser les classes de document mises à jour.

I suppose this means I have to restart lyx to access the menu. However, restarting does not help. Anybody has an idea what might remedy this?

Did you click on "Appliquer" or "Enregistrer" ? You want to do "Enregistrer" after you change the language so that you the settings are preserved for the next time you start LyX.
