General ⇒ ilegible lyx document

Hi. I was working on a lyx document. It was saving when i turned off the computer. Now, when I try to open the lyx document there is a emergent window and it says that it's a not valid or ilegible lyx document. How can i recover that document?
Please, that document is very important and i need it...

welcome to the forum!

I hope you enabled the auto-save feature. Try to locate the .lyx~ file (restore file) and make a copy before you proceed. Then rename it to have the extension .lyx and open it. Have a look at this topic: Damaged LyX File. Furthermore, look for #*.lyx# files (backup) and try renaming and opening such a file. They may be more recent than ~ files.
