No export menu LyX 2.1.3 Ubuntu 15.04
I use LyX everyday to write a novel and desperately need to export to, save, update, and view pdflatex files. These functions worked fine in LyX before the upgrade to version 2.1.3.
Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated! (I consider LyX as indispensable to my work product.)
Thank you in advance.
NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.
And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

LyX developers aren't here often. You might reach them faster with The LyX users mailing list. If this should be a bug, they can lead you further down the road.

Nevertheless, LyX questions can often be solved here, since it's mostly LaTeX. Especially a LaTeX exported file, posted here, brings us to a solution most of the times.
Back to your problem! I suppose, after your Ubuntu update, your TeX installation is not correct. Even if LyX is installed, TeX packages would be required in any case. So verify if you have
texlive
installed. I would install texlive-full
to avoid problems with missing packages.Stefan

Hi Belswood,Belswood wrote:I tried both suggestions. The TextLive package was reinstalled and there was no command for textlive-full. Have posted on the listserv at suggested by prior respondent. Hopefully, if a bug they will fix soon!
Thanks for your message. I responded on the list. Let's continue the discussion there. When you "cross-post" it's useful if you link to your posts. That way we can all share information and if a user has the same problem as you and comes across this thread they can find the solution by following the link. I'll take care of it this time.
