Kile keeps crashing, help needed

Post by jervja »

Hi everyone,

This is my first post so let me know if I need to provide any more information. I've been using Kile to compile a miktex document and yesterday I started getting error messages (see below) that appear roughly a minute or so after starting kile. To my knowledge none of my settings changed and so any help in working out what's going wrong would be greatly appreciated!

Error Message Details:
Executable: kile.EXE PID: 5912 Signal: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005)

The four numbers before "Signal" changes each time the error occurs, but the message is otherwise always the same.
I've also attached the Kile backtrace in case that helps.

This file contains the backtrace produced by Kile,

Thanks

Hi Jervja,

welcome to the forum!

We know Kile more from a user view. I did never see such an error. Perhaps contact the Kile developers, make a bug report, via http://kile.sourceforge.net/.

In the meantime, perhaps give TeXstudio or Texmaker a try, both are very capable editors. I prefer the slim TeXworks though. Previously I used Kile too.

Feel free to challenge us by LaTeX questions. ;-)
