Font substitution warnings during compilation

Post by Stefan Kottwitz »

Possibly a bit misleading, but not far away. Zapf Chancery is pzc, however TeX Gyre Chorus is similar. Historically, it started as chancery clone. But it's better to use the correct name.

From the (obsolete) qfonts page: "the Quasi-Chancery (qzc) fonts are now available as TEX-Gyre Chorus".

This can also be read on the TeX Gyre page: "TeX Gyre Chorus is based on the URW Chancery L Medium Italic ... TeX Gyre Chorus can be used as a replacement for the acknowledged font ITC Zapf Chancery(R) (designed by Hermann Zapf, 1979)."

Such different names come because of legal reasons (trademark names) even if cloning the font appearance would be allowed.
