Cannot compile template

Post by templateuser »

Hi, I keep trying to use your templates but stumble upon this error:

Code: Select all

Windows API error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.
C:\Users\John\Documents\Latex\MyFiles\article_1.dvi
My other files are run ok, except this. Do you have any idea what the problem might be? Btw, thanks for this great resources.

Dave

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

I would recommend you to try compile it with pdflatex. It works for me under windows and linux.

I have a similar problem as Dave, and I have Latex setup with Texnic Center. How do I go about setting up or using pdflatex? Thanks.

Hi,

Select the output profile LaTeX => PDF , and click on the Build icon. This should use pdflatex.

Surprisingly that didn’t work - I was using that setting(Latex=>PDF) initially, and it seems to work with other types of tex files except these ones on your site. However, I somehow have TexWorks installed as well (didn’t know I had it), and using it worked. Awesome templates.

Thank you for all your efforts.

That’s odd, I haven’t heard of anyone else having problems compiling templates. If you figure out what was causing the problem send me a quick email. Thanks for your comments! :)
