Hi, I'm new to LyX and I have an irritating bug which prevents me to compile documents in Hebrew. When I insert English letters I can compile the document to a P.D.F file. But when I'm using Hebrew letters, for example, typing the Hebrew letter 'alef', I get the following error:
"Undefined control sequence <argument> \alef"
I have installed all the packages for using Hebrew letters so I don't understand why I'm getting this error. Thanks for anyone who is willing to give me some help.

Can't compile LyX document with Hebrew letters
Hi and welcome,
i don't know hebrew, but isn't it aleph?
Nevertheless, i suggest to use XeLaTeX. You can use your regular (system) font you use for writing hebrew as well as english.

The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Did it work? Are you able to compile LyX's Hebrew documents? (look in examples/he and in doc/he). I can compile them all fine on Ubuntu with the fonts installed.
