It seems that you are using a bitmap font, not a vector font. The latter would be scalable without getting pixelated.
If you use the standard font, you could fix that by simply installing the package

If you do not want to change the font (e.g. defined by a template). Install cm-super as written earlier: (do not edit the tex-file)
