How to Prevent Asterisk On the Wrong Author Name

Post by Xthouhght »

I would like to get advice on removing the asterisk (which denotes the communicating author in revteX by the American Physical Society). I actually want two different authors to have an asterisk e.g., the experimental lead author and the theory lead author. Unfortunately, laTeX is putting an asterisk on one correct author name and placing an asterisk on one incorrect author name. Finally, the correct name that is receiving an asterisk in the first author. The incorrect name that is receiving an asterisk in the last author. I have specified the first and third authors to receive and asterisk symbol by coding the following

\email[$^1$]{author1st@herplace.edu, author3r@hisplace.too.br}

Thanks

You used many words, but i didn't understand the matter. Can you post the code that leads to this behaviour? Meaning, the documentclass and the stuff needed to make the title. The most comfortable way for helpers would be a compilable example.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
