It always warn me about cannot find the basic module and no textclass, but all the layouts and modules are just in the resources folder....I do not know why it cannot recognize these files. And I cannot output tex file. It should have some opinions in " document-setting-output-default output format" like xetex something. But here is only a default opinion now. It works well in win7. I have installed MikTex, ctex, even texlive. This have puzzled me nearly a week....I have tried most solutions I could find online. none of them are work...I really need help  Image

Hi and welcome,

i don't have any experience with LyX, but i guess LyX doesn't find your TeX Live. I bet you can find some button somewhere in the properties.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Thanks for your help! especially for the calming down part lol.
Finally, I fixed it....It just because my windows user name is Chinese.....Lyx cannot read the user part if there are Chinese words in path ORZ. Pretty ridiculous....

Hi luckyjack,

Sorry you had trouble getting it working. I'm glad that you fixed it! I don't think this is "ridiculous". Let me explain. Very few LyX developers use Windows (most of us use Linux). Not one developer speaks Chinese. So unless someone reports this issue, how could we have known about it?

Can you please report this bug (and any other bugs) with as many details as possible at the following link?

http://www.lyx.org/trac

That would be a great help!

I am sorry for not clearing the word "ridiculous", I actually means that I'm so ridiculous, I should realize the this kind of issue earlier  . I coped with same situation before in other software. Really really not mean offence.
I will post it to that link. Wish it could help :)

Not a problem at all, luckyjack. I think it's definitely reasonable of you to expect it to work with Chinese on Windows. I just wanted to explain why it's not so surprising that it doesn't.

Great, thanks for making a new post there. Once you make it, please link to it from here.
