Hello everyone,
I'm trying to add a table of figures to my article with \listoffigures and I was wondering if there was a way to display the titles or the labels of the figures in the table instead of the caption. My captions are pretty long as I use them to explain what's on the figure so they aren't really fit for a table.
Thank you in advance.

Show titles or labels in \listoffigures?
The caption command does know an optional argument.
Code: Select all
\caption[Short entry for the list]{The long entry with the object
explaining the stuff. If an optional argument is given, it is printed to
the lof. If it is given but empty, an empty entry is typeset (depending on
the class and packages). If no optional argument is given, the mandatory
argument is used for the lof as is. The same mechanism is at work for the
list of tables}
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
