What is the simplest way to view what my work will look like once printed?
Thanks,
Michael

Btw: new to Linux and LaTeX. You should start with one at the time. I would suggest some basic introductory material to Linux (and/or your distro) as well if you want to work effectively.

Re: Print preview
welcome to the LaTeX Community forum!
Because of asking for a preview, I assume you are using LaTeX at the command line, i.e. in a terminal window, not yet together with an editor. Most editors offer a preview.
I suggest to install and to use a LaTeX editor, such as TeXworks, Texmaker, TeXstudio, or Kile.
Which Linux do you use, and how did you install TeX? Dependent on this, we could give further specific advice.
