New Members ⇒ line spacing in texmaker *editor*

Hi everyone,

I am a newbie to latex. I am using latest Mactex distribution for Mac OSX 10.8 and texmaker 4.2 for writing docs.

I have two question primarily related to texmaker.

1. I want to increase the line spacing in the texmaker editor. Unfortunately i could not find any obvious option in preferences-Editor. I would appreciate if someone could help me in controlling the line spacing in the texmaker editor.

2. I want to use 'Courier New' to write doc (in the editor Not as output). I select this font from preferences-Editor->Editor Font Family [Courier New]. The text in the editor appears correctly as it should be, however, the curly and square brackets {} are distorted. I am just wondering as why i am getting these distorted brackets and how to fix this problem?
