How to reset section numbering by part?

The solution might be simpler than you think ;-)

Code: Select all

\counterwithin*{equation}{part}
For the LyX part: Try to do the same thing, i don't know if it will work.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.
