Hello,
I am trying to install the class achemso (http://www.ctan.org/pkg/achemso).
I do not really understand how to do it.
I have downloaded the zip, and the instructions suggest to unzip it into your local texmf directory.
Actually, I do not have any local texmf directory.
I can only see:
/usr/share/texmf
/usr/share/texmf-texlive/
which I suppose to be the installation directories.
Can you suggest me what to do?
Kind regards,
Carlo

Hi Carlo,
welcome to the forum!
Which TeX distribution are you using? Did you install TeX Live from Linux repositories, or the original TeX Live from tug.org? The latter provides a package manager for installing.

Hi Stefan,
thank you for writing.
I am running lubuntu 12.04.3 LTS, and I have installed TeX Live from the repositories.
As I told you, I believe that the installing directories are:
/usr/share/texmf
/usr/share/texmf-texlive/
Ca you give me some hint?
Kind regards,
Carlo
