Use the latest IEEEtran document class

Post by hardyb »

I read that some one solved a problem with paragraph spacing by downloading the latest IEEEtran.zip. I have done this and unzipped it and it contains a .cls file which is presumably a document class file.

However in Lyx I can find no way to load this file or change the document class to reflect the updated IEEEtran from document settings\document class dialog.

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

This has nothing to do with LyX (unless the LyX layout needs to be updated to support the new .cls). Search for "installing a new .cls in LaTeX in <your OS>" on google. Or you could search your filesystem for the name of the .cls and replace the old one with the new one but I'm not sure if this is best (if you do this, back up). After you install it, run Tools > Reconfigure although this shouldn't make a difference because you are updating a .cls and not adding it.
