Shortening Bibtex reference via lyx

Hi,
I had a problem in citing bibtex enteries in my paper created using jabref.
i want to show the citation in a format like niazi et al. ({2011})..
when i insert citation using lyx, it looks same but in the pdf generated as an output, it show me complete list of authors..
Can anybody help me what went wrong??

Just for information to other users for awareness of possibly already existing solutions. The question has also been posted to {TeX} SX. Please read what our administrator thinks about that.
