Texmaker and TeXstudio ⇒ Footnotes from Scrivener

I'm a newbie, trying to write a thesis in TeXmaker.

1. I am struggling with biblatex and Biber and have not found a way to produce a formatted footnote. I am using Scrivener for my thesis which can compile a file for TeXmaker.
2. Also, should footnotes be on format \footonote\autocite?
