LyX ⇒ Unwanted Red Text in mathmode

Hello,

I am curious if there is a way to remove the red text that gets put into mathmode when you use a package not standard in lyx. For example, when I wish to use a dsfont character and the improved right/left parens of mleftright, in the lyx window I see



even though the output compiles properly as



Does anyone know a way to alter this? I would prefer that Lyx actually puts large left and right parenthesis and dsboldface letters directly into my lyx window, but if there is a way to simply stop the redtext from appearing I would be happy to get rid of it. Thank you.

Hello all,

I have yet to find a solution to this, but I did go to Tex a document on my mac and noticed that in the mac version of Lyx, this behavior is absent. If you put in commands from a nonstandard package, the red text appears as long as you are in mathmode, but when you exit to resume typing regular text the mathmode boxes parse the Tex, and show the proper symbols after a few moments.

This is exactly the behavior I was looking for, and the fact that it is standard behavior for the Mac version of Lyx makes me hopeful. Did this added information perhaps spark an idea for how I can activate this feature in the Windows version of LyX?

Probably a difference in versions. You might want to try LyX 2.1 beta and see if it's fixed there:
