LyX ⇒ Bind file dont save

i did some changing in the key-bind of lyx(with lyx) and save it on the file yoni.bind, but now when i try to copy that file to other computer the lyx don't know the key-binds that i did.
i tried to copy all the folder but still it's not working

hi elyoni, in general when posting questions about LyX it's useful to include your OS, OS version, and LyX version.

Can you write down the steps explicitly that you did on both of the computers. For example, how do you know you're copying it to the right place on the new computer? You need to copy it to the user directory, which depends on OS, OS version, and even possibly LyX version.

OK i am sorry
i have windows 7 on both computers
my lyx ver is 1.6
how i add my key binds: (i made the key binds on the PC)
1. first i enter the bind key files folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\LyX 2.0\Resources\bind"
and made a copy of the file cua.bind
2. Rename the new file to yoni.bind
3. went to tools -> Preferences -> Edition -> Shortcuts, and browse for the file "yoni.bind"
4. Now i started to add new key binds.

on my laptop i enter to the same binds folder at first and i copy only the file "yoni.bind" but after i started to work i notice that key binds dont work then i tried to copy all the binds files from my PC binds folder to my Laptop.

Thank you for the extra details. That helps a lot.

I think that the problem is the following: when you create new shortcuts, they are not saved in the original bind file. Thus, my guess is that cua.bind and yoni.bind are identical. Your custom shortcuts are saved in user.bind in your user folder. To find out where your user folder is, go to Help > About.

Note that all of this information applies to 2.0.x. I'm not sure how things were for 1.6. 1.6.0 is almost 5 years old now. You should really upgrade. Since you are so far behind in the version, you might want to skip 2.0.x and give 2.1 beta a try: ftp://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/devel/lyx-2.1/lyx-2.1.0beta1

If you want to be sure you have something stable, you should at least upgrade to 2.0.6.

I found the bind key in the folder
c:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\LyX2.0\bind\user.bind
