We all used \Delta for triangles. But is there a symbol for Parallelogram?

In a geometry topic with MathJax rendering engine, I wanted to use such symbol but couldn't find one.

Hi,

you could try Detexify and on the command line texdoc comprehensive.

And I don't think everyone uses \Delta to write a triangle, but to write a Δ (Greek capital letter Delta). I guess you are also looking for \triangle? Look here for more geometric shapes. You could also take a look at unicode-math.

Johannes already mentioned »The Comprehensive LaTeX Symbol List«. There in Table 46 you can find the \fatslash and \fatbslash symbols from smartyrd which perhaps are suitable here.

A fallback procedure could be to use PGF/TikZ and draw the symbol by hand. But that seems like taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
