Unable to save tex document

Post by lynnlee »

Hello Latex Community,

I reinstalled the Tex software on my computer, the version is Miktex2.9. The problem is tex document can not be saved even I run the program as administrator. The error message is "The file could not be saved. Please check if you have write permission." The software was downloaded from the website "www.tug.org/protext/". When I use 2.8 version tex, this problem never happen.

Any suggestionn about how to solve this problem is appreciated.

Best,
Lynn

Try to add the file ending .tex when saving the file.
The smart way: Calm down and take a deep breath, read posts and provided links attentively, try to understand and ask if necessary.

Thank you, Johannes_B. But I am not sure how to do that. Do you mean write file name as "file ending.tex" or need to download some file? Thanks a lot.

Instead of typing YourFileName and pressing <enter>, type YourFileName.tex and press enter. Please be aware, that spaces in filenames can be bad.

Best regards
Johannes
