Different Line and Page Breaks after Update

Post by aquamarijn »

Hello,

I'm using the Utopia font in the mathdesign package, I have made many LaTeX documents.

After an update of that package, many line and page breaks are made at different positions than before the update, when I recompile the same document. This also influences figures and tables which have been carefully positioned in pre-update documents. After recompiling the documents, the PDF output doesn't look good; awkward line and page breaks, figures at undesirable positions.

The readme file of the package says the font metrics may change between updates, influencing the position of line and page breaks. This seems to confirm my experience.

Is it possible to return to the previous mathdesign installation? Where can I find the necessary files?

I use MiKTeX 2.9, WinEdt, Windows XP SP3.

Thank you for your attention,
Jaap

The author of the mathdesign package has been so friendly to send me an old version of the package. The problem is now solved. This topic may be marked as answered or may be removed. Thanks to all visitors who paid attention.
