Subequations and subnumbering equations

I have a lot of problems with subnumbering equation with lyX. I must subnumbering my equations with 1a, 1b, 1c .... I would want know if LyX support subnumbering equations. Thanks for your help. I have inserted \begin .. and end with latex command but i have had an error message. Thanks.
