General ⇒ Code lost in online Editor

Hi.

me and my colleague are writing a report for a computer science project. We are using the WriteLaTeX online editor. A mighty fine tool if you ask me. The issue we encountered today, though, is this:

(no line number in this file):
(job aborted, no legal \end found)

I don't specifically know what the error means, but the problem is that the entirety of our latex has disappeared. It's simply gone.

Has anyone else experienced this with the WriteLaTeX editor? We're getting kind of stressed out because the report is due tomorrow. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the LaTeX community! The cause of the `no legal \end` error could be found if we could see some code that causes it but you're saying it is gone... In my opinion you should try to contact the WriteLaTeX people and see if they can recover your files.

They provide contact information on their website. They're also active on G+ (WriteLaTeX profile or John Hammersley and on Twitter.
