Place for Package Installation

Post by Iknownothing »

I have done programming in the distant past but am completely new to LyX and LaTeX.

I wish to change fonts and other properties of headings. Looking for something which might do it, I have found a group of files for titlesec with the instruction to copy them to where LyX can read them.

But where would that be? Should I put them in a folder alongside the other Lyx files? How to I get Lyx to find and read them when it starts up?

Regards
Mark :-)

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

Hi Mark,

I can help you if you're using Ubuntu. If you're using something else, just google something like "LaTeX package installation <your OS> <your LaTeX distribution>".

After you do that, be sure to reconfigure LyX (Tools > Reconfigure).
