Configuration for Dia Conversion on a Mac

Post by Gnosos »

This page explains how to set up LyX to convert Dia files to PDF on Windows machines. How does one do this on a Mac?

Recommended reading 2024:

LaTeXguide.org • LaTeX-Cookbook.net • TikZ.org

NEW: TikZ book now 40% off at Amazon.com for a short time.

And: Currently, Packt sells ebooks for $4.99 each if you buy 5 of their over 1000 ebooks. If you choose only a single one, $9.99. How about combining 3 LaTeX books with Python, gnuplot, mathplotlib, Matlab, ChatGPT or other AI books? Epub and PDF. Bundle (3 books, add more for higher discount): https://packt.link/MDH5p

Insert File > External Material

Then change from "Chess diagram" to "Dia".

Thanks, Scott. But when I do this I get an error message: "No information for converting dia format files to eps. Define a converter in the preferences."

Any idea how to do this?

Did you install Dia after LyX? Go to LyX > Reconfigure (I think that's the place. If not look in the other menus for Reconfigure. On Ubuntu, it's under "Tools" but I think for Mac there is a "LyX" menu). Then restart and try again.

Does that work?
