General ⇒ Configuration of used TeX Distribution

Dear members,

I am using LaTeX for the first time on my laptop. TeXnicCenter (TXC) opens my .tex files fine. But it does not compile or output any file and I get the wizard (see attachment)

I am stuck and I have to finish this document today. Any help is appreciated.

Which part of the text displayed in the message window do you not understand? Did you try to click on the "Next" button?

What about using the context help by pressing F1 or reading the online help [1]? Could this be helpful for the configuration?
