Dear all,
is there a functionality of TeXworks that leads a user through all spelling errors while giving the opportunity to correct them (kind of like the search function) instead of just underlining the respective words?

I have exactly the same problem. I use TeXworks to create latex documents, but I must use emacs + ispell just to go through spelling errors, because teXworks underlines the errors but it's not easy to not forget underlined errors.
