Latex to Word

Post by abikutn »

Hello,

I was wondering if there is any way for compiling latex document to word like latex->word, just like how we have latex-> PDF .

Thanks,
Abhi

Latex to Word

There is a software which does exactly this, but it isn't free. It is called Latex2word. Have a look here

I never used it, so I have no idea how good it is.

Latex to Word

Hi Abhi,

Word is commercial and proprietary, and means several partially compatible formats. This means it's hardly possible for a free software community to make a converter for it. Perhaps ask in a Microsoft forum: for Microsoft who knows and protects its own proprietary format it should be easy to make an import filter to a open source format like LaTeX. I just guess they don't have commercial interest in being compatible. ;-)

But have a look at this list: Converters from LaTeX to PC Textprocessors.
