Hello! I'm Lue...

Post by spiderylue »

Hi all,

I'm an English girl tackling a PhD at Texas A&M University. My boyfriend, who is a computer scientist, introduced me to LaTeX about 7 months ago. I'm totally hooked. Unfortunately, I'm in the field of entomology, where EVERYONE uses Word. My attitude? Never give in, never surrender. I want everyone to use LaTeX so I never have to look at Word again. I've already had the dreaded "Can I have the Word document of that" request, and it makes me cringe.

Here's to the start of a beautiful, and probably sometimes ranty, relationship.

Hello Lue,

welcome to the board!

Very good decision to change to LaTeX, especially for the PhD. It's hard sometimes, especially at the beginning, but besides its known benefits it's good that there's an active community which helps to explain things and to fix problems.
