Converting MS Word Template to LyX

Post by codeinject »

Hello,

For my job I am required to deliver the documents in a specific template. This template has been developed for MS Word (as always..). But I just want to work with LyX due to the ease of typing for me (since of my Dyslexia I love the fact that I can pick my own font to type on and that when I generate the document that it has a 'friendly' font) and the Math functions.

So I've been googling on how to change the \chapter things to be Bold, Font xx with a height of 32px and with a small picture on the side (etc etc).

The conversion must be by manual labor I assume but this is not an issue.
I just don't know where to start. I tried http://hstuart.dk/2007/05/21/styling-the-chapter/ but I just got a bunch of errors I didn't understand _at_ all.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,
Robin

What document class are you using? If you are using memoir, check out the memior chapter styles pdf (made from a lyx file) where you can learn how to modify the chapter styles.

I used memoir for a lot of my work, but have recently swapped to using KOMA-script, and as yet haven't delved into modifying the chapter styles.
