Greetings from Ian
Thanks for that forum. I have been a regular user of LaTeX for the last 12 years. I have also done some TeX programming in past. On that grounds, I probably have a legitimate reason not to count myself under total newbies.
However, recently I have bumped upon a problem which I will certainly not be able to solve by myself. It's about the MusixTeX package in which I am a total newby.
In order not to violate any rules established for that forum, I would kindly ask for an advice in which posts it would be appropriate to announce my problem and how to properly do this.

Greetings from Ian
Since typesetting music is mostly a matter of formatting, I would suggest the »Text Formatting« sub-forum. If you are unsure where to place a question, you can always ask in the »General« sub-forum. If necessary, a question will be moved to the appropriate place later.ibaldwin wrote:[…] In order not to violate any rules established for that forum, I would kindly ask for an advice in which posts it would be appropriate to announce my problem and how to properly do this.[…]
Best regards and welcome to the board

welcome to the LaTeX community! It's been ages since I last used MusixTeX... I'm nonetheless curious to see your question

Re: Greetings from Ian
It's nice to hit on a living forum

To that end, I'll be glad to help, if my skils will allow this. I guess the default settings under User Control Panel -> Board Preferences -> Edit Global Settings will suffice for peoples' questons to apear in my mailbox, or should I make any other changes. I guess not all questions will hit me on my mail, so to be really of some help I should from time to time get on that internet site, right?
I'll now post my question about MusixTeX in the "Text Formatting" forum, as Thorsten suggests. So, Clemens, I'll be glad to see you there
