Error when exporting

Post by haadah »

Hi,
Been using Lyx for last couple of years so this was a big surprise!
The problem occurs whenever i want to view the output of my document - i use several computers and all of them are configured similarly, so you can imagine my surprise when i sent a document from one computer to another for image insertion and export to pdf and was met with the message:
"LyX: Cannot convert file
No information for converting tiff format to png.
Define a converter in the preferences."

I sent the document and images back to the previous computer and tried exporting to pdf, it worked!
On the computer with the error message, i converted all images to png manually and reinserted them in the document, this seemed to solve the problem - but it is no good because all images that i have to use are .TIFF, for a smaller document this would not cause any problems but when operating with +100 images this is a major obstacle.

I don't know whats causing the problem, and neither have i ever experienced this before - so i would like to ask if anyone out there can help.
